CCW Products, Inc. began operations
on September 1, 1979 in a small warehouse in the Denver
suburb of Englewood, Colorado. Production was started with two extrusion blow-molding
machines and a total of nine employees.
Several proprietary
and custom products were molded initially and we knew
then that there was a need for clear, wide-mouth jars
made of FDA approved material for food packaging. We
decided to make the tooling investments to develop a
proprietary line of these clear containers so customers
would not be required to buy molds.
The plant became
a speciality operation, molding containers of only clear,
FDA approved material. This proved to be a successful
strategy as the wide-mouth clear jars found many food
and nonfood packaging and Point-of-Purchase applications.
Demand for these products grew rapidly.
By 1985 it was
obvious that a larger plant was needed to sustain the
growth in demand. We built a factory dedicated
to the CCW Products operations. The plant was built with a rail
siding in the Denver Suburb area of Arvada, Colorado.
The company moved its facilities in 1986, and a few years
later that plant was expanded by 17,000 square feet to
a total of 47,000 square feet. Besides being able to
run more production machinery, the rail siding gave it
another advantage of allowing the company to buy raw
bulk materials by rail car, thereby reducing the cost
of jars to our customer.
By 1998, without room for more
expansion, it was unquestionable a larger plant was again
needed to sustain growth and meet demand. CCW products
built a larger plant and in June 2000, moved its entire
business just 1/2 mile east to the new 80,000 square
foot facility. Again positioned along a rail siding,
CCW Products has an increased advantage to now handle
multiple rail cars as well as ample silo storage for
increased raw material purchases. This new site includes
room to expand again without moving.

CCW Products, Inc. 80,000 square foot facility.
The Denver location,
near the center of the United States and near three interstate
highways, has proved to be an excellent shipping point. The finished goods are shipped by truck and rail. Very
favorable long-term contract truck and inter-modal rates
have been negotiated making CCW's products quite competitive
to most destinations on the North American continent
and an attractive source for the international market.
